Among the socisl projects the most important are the company efforts aimed to change the public consciousness with regard to waste management. March 28, 2009 “GrinCo-Cherkassy” took part in the global environmental action “Earth Hour”. On this day in 20.30 the company’s employees, as well as their family members for one hour, turned off all unnecessary electric power. The aim of the campaign was to unite the people of the world in the fight against global warming. The first of its kind event was held in Sydney in 2007, when 2.2 million households and organizations to turn off lights for one hour. Our company is fully shared the idea of the campaign. We believe initiatives such as “Earth hour” is very important both in terms of making a practical contribution to the minimization of human-induced climate change, and in terms of environmentally-oriented philosophy of the world’s population. In accordance with the requirements of ISO 14000 “GrinCo-Cherkassy” determine for itself the environmental aspects of its activities, which they can control in order to minimize negative impacts on the environment by constructing a system of management. In particular, we are talking about the use of gas, water, electricity, fuel, control of air pollution from vehicles, as well as compliance with regulations relating to environmental aspects of industrial activity – movement of wastes, their handling, sorting and recycling. In the short to medium term, an important task for "GrinCo-Cherkassy” is to work on formation of ecological consciousness of the region. We very much hope that together we can make a clean and prosperous Ukraine.
