On 3 of July, 2008 on the territory of the Grishko’s botanical gardens the “GreenCo” company together with other business structures and social leaders signed a declaration “Go Green!”, initiated by the U.N.O representation in Ukraine, in terms of Global Agreement, proclaiming the greatest desire to do the best for environmental safeguarding. The Global Agreement is an initiative aimed at the assistance business social responsibility and the support of globalization issues and creation of a more stable and end-to-end economic system by the entrepreneurs. The Global Agreement network in Ukraine has joined now 106 companies and organizations which has publicly proclaimed their devotion to 10 universal principals of social responsibility in 4 spheres of the Global Agreement. This voluntary initiative is aimed at better level of environmental protection in terms of economic and social state development. The company has a goal to encourage the changes in the social behavior in terms of ecological aspects.
Though the action has not only the declaration character. In the “GreenCo” company such projects are realized:
– common round-table discussion, seminars, other actions in Kiev;
– actions aimed at the assistance in social promotion of knowledge concerning rational domestic waste treatment and promotion of the expediency of separate collection.
Kiev city organization of Green Party of Ukraine in person of its Head Tatijana Kondratijuk has shown an intention to assist in all possible ways “GreenCo” company in realization of its innovational programs and projects as they correspond the aims and principals of green ideology: “We share the “GreenCo” intention to promote in Kiev society the Europe culture of domestic waste treatment. Realizing that we did not inherit but borrowed this world from our descendants is our common. Undoubtedly together we manage to make our favorite Kiev cleaner, turn it to Ukrainian example in issue of environmental safeguarding.”
Though the action has not only the declaration character. In the “GreenCo” company such projects are realized:
- national photographic competition “Climate changes. Take care of your planet” (on the 5th June, 2008), in which photographers-amateurs demonstrated their active position considering overcoming of the problem of climate change.
- Cleaning weekends (all year round) in different parts of the city, which did not only attract the social attention to the problem of city pollution but prompted the citizens to clean the territories where the actions took place. Particularly the largest-scaled cleaning day was on the 6th of July 2008 on the celebration of the Dnepr Day and on the 21st of September 2008 when the company was the initiator of the corporate cleaning bringing in cooperation voluntary companies which cleaned the recreation city zones.
- Social advertising campaign of main environmental issues (August-September 2008) aimed at promotion energetic effectiveness, water resources preservation, air cleanness, recycling and hot gas reduction.
